Rimulo is a right-click utility for macOS Finder. It works on the files on your Mac, so this policy comes down to two questions: which files Rimulo can touch, and whether anything about them ever leaves your machine.
No data collection
Rimulo collects nothing, uploads nothing, and receives nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. The developer has no way of knowing what you do with it.
No network requests
Rimulo bundles no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting, and no third-party components. It makes no network requests and works fully offline.
Access limited to folders you choose yourself
Rimulo's menu appears only in the folders you add as workspaces and their subfolders, and it reads and writes only in those locations. Authorization is stored as a macOS security-scoped bookmark, held by the system rather than by Rimulo.
Remove a workspace in Rimulo and that authorization is handed back to the system; Rimulo can no longer reach the location. The same applies to destinations. Rimulo neither requires nor uses Full Disk Access.
Everything happens on your Mac
Creating files, copying information, copying, moving, scanning QR codes, and changing icons all run locally. File contents, names, and paths never leave your device.
About Copy and Move
Copying never overwrites an existing file — on a name clash it either adds a numbered copy or skips, according to the policy you set.
Moving deletes the item at its source once it succeeds. Across volumes, Rimulo follows a strict order: copy, verify the contents, then delete the source. If verification fails the source is always kept; if the source cannot be deleted, the results view says so explicitly ("Source kept") rather than pretending the move completed.
Clipboard
Copy Name, Copy POSIX Path, Copy File URL, Copy Markdown Link, and QR scanning write their result to your system clipboard — that is what those actions are for. Rimulo does not read anything else from your clipboard.
Opening Terminal
Rimulo opens the selected folder with the system Terminal app. It does not send Apple Events or request Automation permission. If Terminal cannot be opened, Rimulo copies an equivalent cd command to the clipboard so you can paste it into your preferred terminal.
QR code scanning
Scanning uses Apple's built-in Vision framework and runs locally. Images are never uploaded; the decoded text goes only to your clipboard.
Diagnostic logs
What Rimulo writes to the system log is limited to action types and error codes. It contains no file names, paths, or file contents. These logs stay on your device and are not sent anywhere.
Children
Rimulo is a file utility, is not directed at children under 13, and collects no information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If Rimulo's behavior changes, this policy is updated to match and the date above changes with it.
